Megan Robertson, a San Francisco based writer and artist, has spent her life following the conviction that sharing stories is the best way to effectuate change.

Megan Robertson (she/her) is a San Francisco-based publisher, editor, playwright, venue manager and musician. Originally from Dalton, Georgia, her multidisciplinary practice centers on the space where art and activism meet – her work following the conviction that sharing stories is the best way to effectuate social change.

She is the publisher and editor-in-chief of the Richmond Review and Sunset Beacon newspapers in San Francisco. Her work as a journalist is focused on uplifting community stories and expanding the reach of local, print media.

Her work has also been published in outlets such as: 48Hills, the Oregonian, the Gazetteer, Grain of Salt Magazine and the Noe Valley Voice.

On stage, Megan is a documentary theatre playwright, jazz and folk vocalist and musical theatre actress. Her current project, “If San Francisco Collapses: Where Are You?” is a series of verbatim documentary theatre performances, accompanied by original jazz compositions from San Francisco musicians, highlighting artists’ resistance against gentrification and cultural displacement in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She supports artistic endeavors around the Bay Area by providing venue management, box office oversight, developmental support and administrative assistance for: the Presidio Theatre, Z Space, Joe Goode Performance Group, Golden Thread Productions and Theatre Bay Area.

Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, with an emphasis in journalism, and a B.A. in Performing Arts & Social Justice, with a concentration in theatre, both from the University of San Francisco.
